My Spring TBR

Happy Spring! I hope you are all enjoying warmer weather and will have access to vaccines soon! I wanted to have a more targeted TBR for the season and make some progress in the books I own. These are all books I own that I just haven’t been making time for and want to get around to reading this spring. If you have read any, which should I get to first?

Keeper of the Lost Cities: Exile by Shannon Messenger

Each of Us a Dessert by Mark Oshiro

A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher

Literary Fiction

Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan

Punching the Air by by Ibi Zoboi and Yusef Salaam

Possessing of a Secret Joy by Alice Walker

The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb

Mystery/Romance

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole

O.W.Ls Magical Readathon TBR

So I’ve never done a read-a-thon before but I’m really excited this one is going to be my first. All the information for the read-a-thon can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn8_f92bAQI

So the basic idea is that with each challenge you complete it is an Exceeds Expectations for that class. The classes you complete lead to a N.E.W.T for the course that will lead to a career. My career goal for these set is Healer. So the challenges I pick will reflect what I need to get that.

Herbology (Plant on the Cover) – Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

Charms (Age-line: read an adult work) – Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Potions (Next Ingredient: Sequel) – Mastiff by Tamora Pierce

Transfiguration (Sprayed Edges or Red Cover) – Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Care of Magical Creatures (Land animal on the cover) – Immortal Guardians by Eliot Schrefer

Defense Against the Dark Arts (Reducto: a title that starts with R)– Ready Player One by Earnest Cline

Divination (Set in the future) – Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card (bookclub pick)

Ancient Runes (Retelling) – A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer

Let me know if you’ve read any of these books or are planning on taking part in this readathon yourself!
